Hi, I'm Andy Vickery, and I am one of the equity release advisors at Money Release.
I am passionate about helping people, just like you, understand regulated financial products that are currently available. You may have heard the term "later life lending", however, I specialise in finance for everyone 55 and over (which is hardly later life if you ask me!).
There are so many stigmas attached to "equity release", and I have heard my fair share of horror stories from the past.
But I am here to allay any concerns and bring you the latest information on products which I trust.
I like to sleep at night knowing my clients are happy. So here are my promises to you:
- I'm not tied to any lender - I will work for you;
- I will explore all the alternatives to any finance with you;
- I won't charge you a penny for my time if you don't take any finance I recommend;
- I will only recommend you take finance where it is in your best interest to do so;
- I will only arrange a financial product which I would have myself (or that I would be happy to arrange for my parents)!

My work story
My work life started after leaving sixth form education from Backwell School. I decided against going to University and instead decided I wanted to start working!
I started working for a communications company, specialising in offering telecoms to the B2B sector. I enjoyed the challenge of finding neat ways to save local businesses money. But, I received more compliments on the branding and website I had created than anything else. This led me to the next chapter of my life, designing and building websites.
In 2008, our web design firm was contracted by a startup business in London to build a Financial Services website. Little did I know at the time, that meeting Adam (the owner of the company) would change my life, and lead me to where I am today.
In 2009 I moved to London to run the in-house IT and development team and helped build the business into a multi-million-pound firm.
Fast-forwarding to 2013, we decided to go into business together, offering equity release advice, and along with two other directors, Money Release was born.
I became qualified in mortgage advice and equity release advice through the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
I now run Money Release; giving regulated financial advice and oversee the compliance of our other advisors.
Money Release continues to thrive within the Equity Release industry. In 2019 we became one of the top 16 firms, which gave us access to a wider range of financial solutions, restricted to a select number of firms. One of our advisers also received the "Biggest Business Writer" award, from the Air Academy in June 2019.
We have helped hundreds of people release money from their homes, and changed peoples lives as a result - and I love it!
My personal story
I live in Portishead, a small town on the outskirts of Bristol, with my partner Nikki, and our two children, Josh and Belle. We are lucky to be close to both our parents, having moved back "home" when Nikki became pregnant while we lived in London. They offer us a great support network (which we are both very grateful for!), and both Josh and Belle love having them so close.
Outside of Money Release, I enjoy spending time with my family. We have created some fantastic memories, and it is great to be able to watch them grow. Pre Covid, our last (and best) family holiday was in Greece, where we soaked up some sun, enjoyed local cuisine, and spent hours every day with the children in the swimming pool.
We also have a furry family member, Archie, a black labrador. I never had dogs as a child, but Nikki grew up around them and was desperate to get a puppy as soon as the children started school. He has been a great addition to the family, and he gets me out of the house every day, come rain or shine!
Nikki and I both keenly follow formula 1. We have been to watch several races at Silverstone, and have been to a couple of Mercedes events where we saw Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolf.
I also enjoy DIY and working on cars. We own a Mk1 VW Golf GTI, and a Lotus Elise. I dream of the day when I can get them back on the road - both projects started before children. My neighbour jokes that they might be finished by the time the kids are old enough to drive!
